XTG - Altis Life Server Rules

INTRODUCTION

Welcome to our server rules and thank you for taking the time to read them. The following content in this post is the full and custom XTG- Altis Life Server Rules for XTG’s Arma 3 Altis life server. Any infringements on these rules whilst using the relevant XTG services may result in the offender being given a warning or a ban. The following rules are subject to change at any point without any warning.  So please check frequently for changes.

 

BASIC RULES

1. NLR

(1.1) Once you have died (and respawned) you CANNOT return to the situation you were previously in. You have to continue as if you forgot the previous encounter from your last life. (Cannot return within 1.5km of last death for 15 minutes after being killed)

(1.2) This rule applies to all under any circumstances you cannot log off and back on to evade this. (If you were RDM's or died due to a bug or glitch you will need to get admins/staff approval to return)

(1.3) If there are 4 or less police on NLR is waved 1 time (Public Slots are not counted as police slots)

1.4 NLR does not apply in the KOS Zone.

2. SAFE ZONES & MAJOR CITY LIMITS (KAVALA/PYRGOS)

2.1 No CIV vs CIV Hostile roleplay in all Green Safe zones.

2.2 Police may Enter safe zones for roleplay excluding Rebel Bases .

2.3 No CIV vs COP Hostile roleplay can take place inside of a Police PD safezone marked in BLUE

2.4 No Trolling / Lockpicking / No Robbing players

2.5 No camping safezone to initiate Hostile Roleplay (this is considered power gaming and can result in disciplinary action upto a ban)

2.6 NO CAMPING SAFEZONES

3.0 METAGAMING

3.1 Metagaming is the use of external information for roleplay and this is FORBIDDEN

3.2 An example of metagaming would be - You or another person was in another channel and heard a gang were going to rob FED RESERVE and you hopped down into police channel and advised police to respond before anything was initiated or the said gang was there.

4.0 TROLLING/GRIEFING 

4.1 Purposefully blocking vehicle spawns @ shops and garages.

4.2 Baiting police (Purposefully committing crimes to get police attention to attempt a hostile roleplay) Example - Driving past cops repeatedly to get attention to then attempt a hostile roleplay to shoot police shortly after.

4.3 Starting Major crimes or robberies and immediately running away before completion and a police response.

4.4 Robbing a person Multiple times within 10 minutes.

4.5 Repeating any action with ill Intent or the intent to annoy others without roleplay reasons classed as trolling.

4.6 Trolling Any police PD (opening closing gates/ blocking spawns/ driving around doing otherwise unroleplay stuff) will result in police being able to Detain and send you immediately to jail with no roleplay needed. (you should know  better than to be a troll).

4.7 There is to be no intentional destruction of Owned buildings either by blowing your own car up next to an owned house or using explosives > suicide vests/RPG/Grenades/explosive charges

 5.0 RDM/VDM

5.1 Killing a person without a defined roleplay reason is (NOT PERMITTED)

5.2 Being a terrorist is not an excuse for RDM

5.3 VDM (Vehicular Deathmatch) is NOT PERMITTED (i.e. - Using your vehicle as a lethal weapon) (Do not use your vehicle to knock a person over (RAGDOLLED)and initiate hostile roleplay you MUST give the person a chance to get up and move around as they were prior to ramming them).

5.4 You CANNOT kill medics (See Declaration Rules)

5.5 Do not RAGDOLL (The act of using your vehicle to knock people over)

6.0 DECLARATIONS

6.1 You must Declare any hostile roleplay prior to beginning

6.2 Declarations must have an ACTION and a CONSEQUENCE. (i.e. This is a robbery, put your hands up or you will be shot.)

6.3 You must give up to 15 seconds to comply

6.4 Any Noticeable action of non compliance can be interpreted as hostile Example - You say to put your hands up or they will die and the other person decides to draw a weapon or run away YOU MAY THEN CARRY OUT THE CONSEQUENCE.

6.5 Police sirens are NOT a declaration and is only an initiation of roleplay Proper Declarations (Text or Voice)

6.6 You must Declare on a player before you can Knock out or Restrain as per Declaration rule 6.2.

6.7 Police are exempt from this rule when restraining for Ticketing/license checks. 

6.8 You Cannot declare using Voice Communications To someone inside a vehicle or To someone outside a vehicle while you are in it. Cops however can voice declare for you to step outside of the vehicle but cannot initiate lethal force for you to comply Tasers may be used as per Police Protocols. (This is due to ARMA VON settings as you cannot clearly hear someone talking to or from a vehicle in direct chat).

6.9 Text Declarations Must be used to Declare upon CIVS REBELS or COPS operating vehicles as voice comms aren't Loud enough to be sufficient. 

6.10 You must be using GANG tags when declaring as part of a gang [GANG] <YOURNAMEHERE (You cannot part take in gang Hostile Roleplay with fellow members if gang tags are not in name) Only exception is KOS areas where this rule will not apply.

6.11 Weapons Manufacturer is NOT considered a Major Robbery and Standard Declaration rules apply. (NOT KOS)

6.12 Gas station Robberies are NOT a KOS and require a DECLARATION as per rule 6.2

DECLARATIONS USING VOICE

• When you declare via voice,  you must CLEARLY state your command and the consequences incurred for not complying. (You will be required to provide evidence of this if disputed).

DECLARATIONS USING TEXT

• When declaring via text (In game Mobile phone text only not in game chat) you must CLEARLY state your command and the consequences incurred for not complying.

7.0 FAIL ROLEPLAY

7.1 Fail Roleplay is not allowed under any circumstances

7.2 Fail Roleplay is (Including but not limited to):

                                 - Not Valuing your own life

                                 - Breaking Character

         - In a situation where you are severely outnumbered  / being held at gunpoint (YOU MUST VALUE YOUR LIFE).

         - Shooting someone when you have a gun to your head is not valuing your life.

7.3 Any form of evading roleplay such as killing yourself, being team killed to evade or breaking character will be seen as fail RP.

7.4 Stealing a Medic Vehicle will be seen as fail RP.

7.5 Sexual Roleplay is fail roleplay also refer to rule (13.12)

7.6 The act of commiting "faction swapping" is when a civilian asks you to join the server as an officer, to allow a civilian to commit major robbery. This is considered as corruption and potentially FailRP

8.0 HOSTAGE SITUATIONS & POLICE DETAINMENT

8.1 You can only hold a Hostage or Perp for a maximum time period of 30 Minutes. (If held any longer you must let that person go as is with no hostile roleplay). This rule applies to Both CIVS/REBELS & POLICE.

8.2 You must show proof of life by showing the hostage or letting the negotiator attend to the hostage before any demands are made.

8.3 The reasonable demands of the hostage taker must be met if practicable. Police will have a set amount they are able to pay monetarily and amounts will be discussed during negotiations. (Set within Police Protocols)

8.4 All negotiations must be done face to face in game and any money must be transacted on site NO wire transfers. 

8.5 Do not use a hostage that is playing with you as your friend or a gang member this will be known as metagaming. 

8.6 Hostages must be unarmed.

8.7 The negotiator of any hostage situation can not be taken hostage at anytime during the negotiations and must be unarmed before approaching and cannot have comms removed or tracking devices removed. Hostage must be shown to negotiator so take this into account when setting up negotiations.

8.8 Negotiations may only be paid in Items or Cash or vehicles (no armed vehicles) Requesting big caliber guns or a large haul of guns and ammo may be seen as Unpracticable. This will Require police Cabinet Approval. Without approval of cabinet a negotiator may only have limited options (i.e. Money only.) (Anything other than money may be refused and you cannot execute a hostage if money is used)

8.9 If negotiations are called off the active situation becomes a KOS zone to police and hostage takers.

8.10 If the hostage is killed by the hostage takers all negotiations are called off and the situation becomes a KOS zone.

8.11 You CANNOT use hostages at MAJOR ROBBERIES (i.e. - Reserve Bank of Altis & Art Gallery)

8.12 Negotiators can offer safe passage (Rebels can also request).  This must be followed through from both sides if agreed upon. This is only when negotiations have been met. (After all terms have been met rebels must expedite their leave of the area and police are not to pursue) 

8.13 When Hostage takers demand police to not be in the area during negotiations they must state a distance the police must keep out of up to a distance of 1km from Negotiator. Hostage takers CANNOT execute a prisoner if police are seen but are keeping over 1km away from negotiator.

9.0 KOS ZONES/RULES

9.1 Players inside a KOS zone may be engaged with hostile roleplay without any declaration.

9.2 KOS zones are marked with a RED Circle or marker.

9.3 The Weapons convoy / The artifact Convoy are all mobile KOS zones ( Please pay careful attention as you may be shot without declaration inside these areas).

9.4 Both Fed reserve & Art gallery are ONLY KOS whilst being robbed outside of this you must Declare, However if police find you inside the Federal reserve you may be tazed and restrained without a declaration.

9.5 House robberies are a 1 way KOS the person who's house is being robbed/raided by CIVS/REBELS or Police can KOS within the direct vicinity of the house against the party trying to get access to the house. The Raiding Gang or Police must declare using Proper Declarations stated in the rules (CANNOT KOS).

9.6 Advanced Rebel base/Store is considered as part of the KOS zone.

9.7 KOS Zone has no NLR you can respawn as often as you like.

10.0 POLICE SEARCHING & IMPOUNDING

10.1 Police Cannot impound or search vehicles in Hostile roleplay (COMBAT).

10.2 Police Can search/impound 5 minutes after a situation is deemed over. Video evidence to prove combat was not over will be needed to support any Compensation claims.

10.3 Police can Tase and Restrain and search any players caught wearing rebel clothing (Clothing purchased from rebel stores/not available from civilian stores)

10.4 Police can Taze and restrain and seize any illegal weapons (weapons not found in civilian weapons store)

10.5 Police may detain any civ seen trespassing around the prison without declaration

11.0 MEDIC RULES

11.1 Medics must follow instructions to leave once given By either hostile parties in areas where hostile actions are taking place (ie Rebels order a medic not to revive other parties) The medic should leave to a safe distance and wait.

11.2 A medic must revive members of the winning party when requested/Instructed.

11.3 However a COMBAT WHITELISTED medic may accompany Police to police operations (Fed Reserve, Banks, Art galleries).

11.4 COMBAT MEDICS can enter KOS zones and revive in KOS zones but CAN be killed as per KOS RULES.

12.0 EXPLOITATION

12.1 No abusing in game bugs to dupe or gain an advantage (i.e. Duping weapons/items or money).

12.2 No Glitching through walls to get into or out of buildings or prison.

12.3 Peering through solid walls using ADS and shooting someone is considered an exploit.

12.4 Dual Robbing any petrol stations or pharmacies or any other robbable area this is considered exploiting as it is meant for 1 person.

13.0 ADDITIONAL RULES

13.1 No Racism or abuse (Bullying/Vilification)

13.2 Staff have the final say

13.3 No unsanctioned advertisement of other servers or discords

13.4 Aborting the server whilst in restraints, Roleplay, Combat or while incapacitated/downed will be considered COMBAT LOGGING this is against the rules and can result in a punishment. (You must wait the timer out and respawn before leaving the server).

13.5 Use Common sense with the rules as looking for grey areas will be frowned upon.

13.6 You must be using GANG tags when declaring as part of a gang [GANG] <YOURNAMEHERE (You cannot part take in gang Hostile Roleplay with fellow members if gang tags are not in name) Only exception is KOS areas where this rule will not apply. Refer to Decalartion Rules.

13.7 Video evidence is required when applying for compensation (youtube)

13.8 MEATSHIELDING is not allowed and is punishable (Meatshielding is the act of using a restrained person in escort as a shield and you MUST cease the escorting so as to prevent any meat shielding when being shot at)

13.9 If you are a 3rd party at a major robbery you MUST declare on both parties POLICE/GANG and not assist either party and must engage both without favoritism. When declaring on the stated parties above you must also notify them in the declaration that you have declared on the opposing party. EXAMPLE - Both >gangnamehere< & >POLICE< you are to cease what you are doing step out of cover / vehicles and place hands on head or you will all be considered hostile and we will use.

13.10 House robberies are restricted to 1 house per hour per gang (No Chain Robbing).

13.11 Taking off clan tags to try to circumvent rule 13.10 if found will be deemed trolling and can result in punishment.

13.12 Rape or Sexual Roleplay is forbidden depending on severity can result in a permanent ban. 

13.13 No weapons of 7.62mm & above are to be used inside City limits (KAVALA) at any time by both cops or Civs. This can result in staff punishment if not followed. (Shooting into city limits with these higher calibers is forbidden also) (Carrying a 7.62mm & above into city limits and being dec'd on you cannot use it in self defense that is you're mistake if you take it inside of the limits).

13.14 If Martial LAW is called in kavala COPS can use any force necessary to quell the violence armoured vehicles included. (However explosives are still forbidden inside built up areas)

13.15 No Armored vehicles are to be used within 4km of KAVALA (Use the kavala safezone as the center of kavala and 4km from that) 

14.0 LAWYERS

14.1 A lawyer can be called to defend a detained person only in situations where it is a lesser crime like robbery or attempted murder.

14.2 A lawyer cannot attend to defend a person who has committed a major robbery or murdered someone or a police officer/s

14.3 Before a lawyer can attend they must first contact the police department asking permission to defend their client 

14.4 A lawyer must be wearing only professional clothing with a Tie

14.5 The lawyer must also not have a criminal history or gang tags to represent clients

14.6 Police can only allow 5 minutes to wait for a lawyer to attend from moment requested if late police will deny a lawyer and proceed with processing. 

15.0 MARTIAL LAW

15.1 Martial Law can be declared when Police are overwhelmed by the amount of Hostile Roleplay/Combat Resulting in alot of civilian and or cop deaths so that Police can bring the City under control again.

15.2 Martial Law can only be declared over Major Cities (Kavala/Pyrgos)

15.3 Martial Law Makes the zone a KOS for COPS vs ARMED CIV/REBELS

15.4 Once you die within Martial Law area you CANNOT return until Martial Law is over
